The paper offers a literature review on WiMax technology comparing different architectures of Wimax, i.e. point-to-point, point to multipoint and mobile. A tabulation of various wireless technologies is presented, such as blue tooth, satellite, 3g mobiles, in terms of official standards, operating frequency, bandwidth, data rate, range, etc. Potential future evolution of Wimax services is described offering a technical insight into various modulations, radio frequency architecture and Sectorization.
