The dissertation examines the image of Berlin as a tourist destination among the youths from Arab-Islamic and Protestant European countries. A review of literature is provided touching on the youth culture in different countries, the features of the tourism industry in Germany and in Berlin, the concept of destination image and the factors that influence its formation, the effects of globalisation on consumer behaviour among Arab-Islamic and Protestant European youth cultures, etc. Primary research is conducted on the basis of quantitative and qualitative data collected from questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions about the perceptions of Berlin. Conclusions are made about the perceptual mapping of Berlin as a tourist destination analysing its implications for Berlin tourism management and suggesting recommendations for its more effective marketing.
The dissertation examines the growth of online services in the Chinese tourism industry focusing on the impact of e-commerce on consumer behaviour. Literature is reviewed on the issues of tourism and e-commerce in China, the technology acceptance model (TAM), etc. The methods of research include interviews, observation and questionnaires to understand the factors behind the use of tourism websites and the systems of online hotel room booking in China. Conclusions are made about the adaptation of the Chinese tourist industry to the online environment. Recommendations are suggested to Chinese tourist agencies using online services.

This is a dissertation examining the concept in the bound of hotel management. The study focuses on evaluating the product development strategy of Holiday Inn Express in Stratford. The aims of the research are to understand the customers' expectation from hotel services, know the position of Holiday Inn Express in the market and examine the strategic hotel management of Holiday Inn Express. The research uses focus group interview in obtaining primary data. Twenty-five respondents are invited to take part in the fieldwork. The secondary data is used to support the argument throughout the report. The analysis based on the concepts and theories of hotel management. The research results showed that Holiday Inn Express in Stratford delivers high level of customer satisfaction. However, there are several factors regarding the facilities in the hotel that fail to meet the fulfilment. The recommendation is also provided in the report along with future research topics.
