The paper will analyze this strategic event from various perspectives in order to put together different parts of mosaics that will depict the holistic picture of the event. The fist part of the picture will be the analysis of the industry, where these companies operate and the nature of business environment. It will shape the contour of the picture. The analysis of business environment will involve internal elements consideration as the influence of the organizational culture and structure, as it partially shapes the environment. Then, the paper will discuss the way the companies compete to describe the internal elements of the picture. The review of strategic event and its drivers and its impact on the Boeing strategy will show the trends of the change that will affect the whole picture. The analysis will apply widely recognized and empirically tested analytical tools as SLEPT analysis and Porter's diamond. It is important to mention that the whole issue around the Boeing-Airbus rivalry is not clear-cut due to allegedly high government involvement and lack of facts on various aspects of the situation.
