The paper looks at the programmes and initiatives aimed to improve physical well-being of individuals with severe mental illness discussing the activities of the Mental Health NHS Trust in Kent and Medway. The nursing problems facing the Trust are highlighted, the implementation of a well being support programme by the Trust is discussed using the Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) analysis. Conclusions are made about the efficiency of the Well Being Programme, the difficulties related to its management, and the ways to address these difficulties.
