The dissertation looks at the supply chain management (SCM) in the UK retailer Argos examining its specific features and identifying the problems of SCM. The review of literature provides information on the theory of SCM and logistics, the problems related to distribution networks, lack of information, cash flow, inventory control, etc. The methods of the research are based on secondary data analysis. A study is conducted to reveal the problems created by the outdated supply chain systems in Argos, and to indicate the benefits of the Replenishment and Core Operations (RACO) programme that provides the opportunity to separate merchandise into detailed categories. Conclusions are made about the unique front-end and back-end supply-chain characteristics of Argos and the outcomes of the company’s transformation over the last years.
