The paper looks at the manufacturing techniques of product mix flexibility (PMF) and capacity utilisation (CU) of production examining the relationship between PMF and CU. A case study is conducted of Fiat’s Robogate technology intended for production flexibility. It is shown that due to Robogate and Robotics Fiat got more flexible in the 1980s than they were in the 1970s. The paper has no reference list.
