The dissertation investigates the marketing strategy of Google in India comparing it with that of the company’s competitor Yahoo. Literature is reviewed on the history of Google, their entry to India, and the features of their price, promotion and products, particularly AdWords, AdSense and YouTube. The paper uses the methods of qualitative descriptive research based on secondary data, SWOT and marketing mix analysis of Google in India is conducted, Google’s use of technology in attracting Indian customers is examined, their marketing strategy is evaluated. Conclusions are made about the reasons behind the growing market share of Google among India’s search engines.
