This dissertation examines the impact that security surveillance in firms may have on the employees in the UK. The aims of the project are highlighted, to critically discuss the literature on security surveillance and organisational commitment, to discuss the potential impact of security surveillance on organisational commitment, to examine the impact of security surveillance on two of the main dimensions of organisational commitment: membership and performance, and to provide the case study firms with recommendations that could help them more effectively manage the impact of surveillance. A structured and thorough literature review is provided, as is the research methodology stating that questionnaires were used to collect primary data from employees on their view of security surveillance. Full analysis into the findings has been provided, and the dissertation ends with recommendations for the future.
