This proposal presents the outline for a study on aviation risk management and discuses how safety can be achieved. The study aims to review the “human dimension” of the safety and management risks being faced by the British Aviation Industry, to review the historical and current responses to these risks and their implications for periodic change in engineering and regulatory codes as they pertain to the UK aviation industry, to compare the UK and EU aviation safety management regimes with those of transatlantic regimes like the US in terms of the crew conditions and HRM practices, and to evaluate the risk and safety management strategies of the major Airlines in the UK industry in the light of the TQM model as they relate to alleviating employee behavior and satisfaction. The paper then highlights aspects of the proposed literature review, methodology, and findings section of the study.
