This paper aims to investigate how management of public services has changed over the past twenty years. In particular, the role of New Public Management (NPM) is to be evaluated. This paper will also examine the practical differences of the public and private sectors, and how they are influenced by outside forces. Finally, it will look at how Public Services are being managed today, by what sort of people, and whether the two sectors have anything to learn from each other.
