This proposal presents the research and plan for a dissertation based on climate change in the UK energy sector and uses EDF energy as a case study. The study aims to discuss the way in which the UK energy sector has had to change to adapt to climate change. The studies objectives are to investigate EDF climate change mitigation policies and their implementation, to Investigate why companies (EDF Energy) mitigate climate change in the energy sector, and how and why they report their environmental performance, to examine how integrated the climate change mitigation procedures are into the overall strategy and business plan of EDF Energy, and to evaluate the impact of Copenhagen Summit on the UK energy sector and EDF climate change policy. The theoretical background is provided, and the data will be collected via interviews and document analysis. The proposal concludes by presenting the plan for the research.
