This paper looks at information systems (IS) in relation to the events industry. The paper begins by identifying the different types of information systems, and by discussing the development and importance for IS in the events industry. The paper discusses the IS systems in view of management, and focuses on the challenges like unclear goals, lack of communication, and ineffective planning to name a few. Scope creep and feature creep are said to be the two main problems that organisations face when implementing new information systems. The paper concludes by offering a series of recommendations that can be applied to companies and implementations.
