The paper looks at the validity of interviews in the assessment of prospective candidates for employment arguing whether employers are good judges of character. The bias towards overweight female candidates is examined discussing the role of physical attractiveness with regard to employment, and considering whether sex, gender, race and ethnicity of applicants can influence the outcome of the interview and subsequent employment.
