This proposal examines how the psychological contract within an organisation can affect it during periods of recession. The paper aims to determine the way in which psychological contracts develop within organisation from recruitment to employee/employer relationships, to analyse what is required from a workforce to survive and perform well in recession, and to determine the way firms can maximise psychological contracts to improve their position during a recession. The paper aims to achieve these objectives through use of a literature review which will examine the nature of the psychological contract and the contract in times of recession. The methodology section is provided, and primary research will be collected through use of group questionnaires and one to one interviews. The proposal concludes with an evaluation of the proposed findings and analysis section.
