The paper addresses the issue of democracy in the European Union (EU) examining the relationship between the European Commission (EC) and the European Parliament (EP). It is argued whether EP lacks the essential features of a democratic legislature and whether EC and European Council are founded on an anti-democratic basis. The superiority of the Commission over the Parliament is discussed.
