The paper examines how small measures can produce enormous consequences explaining the dependence on initial conditions known as ‘butterfly effect'. The effect is discussed with reference to the mathematical background of weather forecasts and the chaos theory. Its relevance for religion is argued suggesting that Eve's eating of the apple in paradise altered the whole global atmosphere.
