This paper examines whether the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) can protect individual privacy through the press, whilst concentrating on the concept of freedom of press. The paper begins by providing the background to the PCC, in relation to the Human Rights Act 1998 and discusses how certain newspapers like The Times has shown intolerance to unjustified invasion of privacy by not publishing material that has been gained through invasive tactics.
