The paper examines the functions and activities of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) reviewing its criticism by the proponents of anti globalisation, and discussing the positive changes introduced by WTO in the area of dispute resolution. General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) of 1995 is examined reflecting on the WTO introduction of the rule of law in international trade.
