This paper examines the concept of human rights in the Pacific Rim region in relation to businesses, namely Primark. The paper begins by providing the background to the proposed topic, and discusses the reasons why many multinational corporations (MNC) have been placed under negative limelight due to human rights abuses. The paper then examines the way in which Primark has misused human resources to increase their own profits. The paper then provides a definition of human rights and globalisation, and then examines the role that government intervention plays. Before conclusions are made, the different tools that are available to help organisations respect human rights are examined.
