This paper examines the internet and the way in which consumer contracts are protected online. The paper examines the law in relation to e-commerce and the Rome I Regulation, and follows this with an analysis of the concept of consumer contracts. The law that governs the contracts in the presence of the choice of law clause is assessed, as well as in the absence of choice of law. Topics like freedom of choice, tort, and jurisdiction is then examined, and the paper then discusses the concept of habitual residence.
