This paper discusses the US policy towards China, and aims to assess the extent to which the Barack Obama administration changed it. The paper begins by identifying the factors that influenced the policy changes, and follows this with an evaluation of the issues regarding the relations between the US and China. Issues relating to economics and security are assessed, and the way in which the Korean crisis and Taiwan affects the relations are examined. Nuclear proliferation is then assessed, and the paper concludes by summarising if the administration of Barack Obama had changed the US/China relations.
