This paper examines theories relating to power, and aims to examine the role of the World Bank in global politics. The theories examined are realism, Neorealism, Liberalism/Idealism, Neoliberalism, Constructivism, Green Theory, Marxism & Dependency Theory, and the Marxism & Dependency Theory. All of these theories are discussed in reference to their key themes and relevance to contemporary organisations. The paper then discusses the World Bank, in reference to its history and its place in Global Politics. Conclusions are made regarding the theories discussed.
