This paper discusses the WTO, the World Bank and IMF in relation to the ideals of the Bretton Woods conference. The Conference introduced a system in 1944 to stabilize the economy following the Great Depression. The paper compares that financial situation with the current recession, and aims to highlight the most crucial developments on the policy, to explore the developments in strengthening relations between the World Bank, IMF and WTO, and to review the current status of the global crisis through analysis of Bretton Woods ideals. Focus is also made on poverty, debt alleviation, and crisis management.
