This paper examines the Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) approach. The paper examines the history of autism, and early intervention methods. The TEACCH approach is then discussed and the paper identifies its history, strengths, limitations, and effectiveness. TEACHH is then examined in reference to the triad of impairment which focuses on social communication, social interaction, and social imagination. Conclusions are made regarding the effectiveness of the approach.
