This paper presents an analysis of research methods for a project on corporate social responsibility (CSR), and is split into three detailed sections. The first section discusses study and research skills, and focuses on the availability of resources regarding CSR. This section provides examples of the types of material that is available. The next section examines the theory of the research, aiming to discuss the different theoretical approaches available. Arguments are made regarding interpretivist and constructive approaches, suggesting that these are the most suitable for research into CSR. This section also argues why other paradigms like positivist is not suitable. The last section discusses data collection and analysis, discussing the most appropriate ways to gather research. The formulation of the research topic is discussed, along with the scope and timetable. Sources of data are studied, and the paper suggests that interviews will be the main form of data collection. Data collection, and the theory and importance of proposals are then examined.
