The dissertation examines the relevance of physical education (PE) and sport activities in children and adolescents. Literature is reviewed on the importance of PE at school, the role of PE in moulding pupils’ future, the link between regular physical activities and obesity in children, etc. A case study is conducted of the Valley Primary School in Bolton, UK. The methodology of the research is based on secondary data and primary data collected from questionnaires distributed among parents, teaches and children of the Valley Primary School. Conclusions are made about the general benefits of PE and its role in reducing child obesity as well as other health related risks. Recommendations are suggested to schools about the ways to encourage physical exercise and sports for children. This file contains 11150 words dissertation and 1300 words proposal.
