The paper examines whether reward strategies improve employee performance reviewing academic research into organisational roles of reward and benefits. Factors affecting reward and benefits, and factors affecting motivation are identified, positive and negative aspects of rewards and benefits are considered. A case study is conducted of the rewards strategies used by Emirates Airline (EA) using primary research data collected from a questionnaire. Conclusions are made about the effectiveness of their reward strategy in motivating employees.
