This paper examines the link between how much executives are paid and their performance. The aims of the study are to assess the link between executive pay and performance, to identify types of incentives used by corporations and the purpose of their use, to examine the implications with the use of incentives to enhance performance, to determine whether board structure influences top executives pay, and to assess if firm size has an impact on the pay level.
