The paper considers the statistical analysis on staff turnover in relation to different grades of employees and different departments. Each grade is considered – directors and senior managers, skilled operator and clerical, semi-skilled operators, and junior clerical, unskilled/juniors. The turnover ratio for each group (achieved via statistical measurement of mean and median, and the measurement of central tendency) is presented, and reasons for changes in staffing suggested. The paper draws conclusions from the results and makes recommendations, in relation to effective recruitment, selection policies, promoting work-life balance, and effective human resource planning.
