The dissertation investigates the labour turnover (LTO) in the UK examining the causes of the high levels of the turnover and presenting a case study of staff turnover in Company X. Literature is reviewed on the LTO theory, the history and causes of LTO in the UK retail industry, the costs of high LTO for companies, the ways to control LTO, etc. The methods of primary research via questionnaires and interviews include statistical analysis and are combined with the research of secondary data. Conclusions are made about the reasons why Company X employees want to leave their jobs, solutions are offered about the ways to reduce the turnover of the labour force.
