The paper looks at the economic and financial impacts of hallmark events on host destinations. A study of Notting Hill Carnival is conducted exploring behavioural responses of different customer segments to this cultural event. The methods of secondary analysis of related literature are combined with the analysis of primary data collected through questionnaires. The risks and benefits of hosting tourist attractions are examined. Conclusions are made about the possible implications of hosting Notting Hill Carnival for the respective stakeholders.
