The paper examines the strategic position of RyanAir within the airline industry reporting on the financial performance of the European and global airline industry during 2007-2011, conducting analysis of Ryanair along the lines of Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT and PESTLE models, examining RyanAir’s ‘no frills’ policy, evaluating their merger with Aer Lingus, and discussing the leadership of Michael O’Leary.
