The dissertation investigates the challenges facing contemporary mobile phone industry offering strategic analysis of the Pakistani company Mobilink. Literature is reviewed on the background and evolution of the mobile phone industry, the position of Mobilink within the Pakistani mobile phones industry, the theory of strategy, the growth challenges faced by organisations, analytical tools that can be applied to meet these challenges, the strategies of innovation, process evaluation, etc. A case study of Mobilink is conducted using the methods of primary research via a questionnaire, and secondary research using the models of PEST, Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT, the company’s internal environment analysis, analysis of market position within Pakistan’s telecommunications industry, etc. Conclusions are made about the main strategic concerns for Mobilink as a market leader, recommendations to the company management are suggested about the ways to take advantage of their position within Pakistani mobile phone market. Reflections about the educational value of the research are provided.
