The dissertation investigates the use of electronic marketing (e-marketing) by SME seeking to identify its impact on SME performance and resulting management adjustments. Literature is reviewed on the importance of e-business for SME, the challenges and opportunities of using e-marketing by SME, the relevance of including e-marketing in the supply chain process, the outcomes of e-marketing for business development, etc. Secondary and primary research is conducted including surveys and in-depth interviews among SME owners and managers. Conclusions are made about the changes of management practices in UK SMEs brought about by the use of e-marketing.
