The dissertation examines the importance of supplier relationship in the outsourcing of information systems (IS) by organisations. The review of literature touches on the concepts of globalization, the function of outsourcing, relationship management, supplier relationship, the role of IS in modern business, etc. Qualitative and quantitative research is conducted using the primary data collected through interviews and questionnaires distributed in the organisations that have outsourced their internal operations to India and China. Conclusions are made about the strategies that an organisation needs to undertake in the outsourcing process in order to maintain a strong relationship with their suppliers and minimize the risks of outsourcing the IT function.
