The dissertation examines how the process of communication during mergers and acquisitions (M&A) affects the success of the post-merger integration of businesses. Literature is reviewed on the socio-cultural factors associated with M&A, the importance of communication in the M&A process, etc. A case study is conducted of M&A at Worley Parsons (WP), an Australian provider of professional services to the energy, resource, and complex process industries. The research methodology is based on the primary data obtained from interviews with WP employees, and secondary research including WP company reports and minutes of their meetings. Conclusion is made that an effective communication process favourably affects the results of a merger.
