The present paper considers four critical issues in international hospitality industry: distinguishing features of this industry, the impact of demand trends, growth strategies and the role of environmental factors and the advantages and disadvantages of franchising. The paper considers both theoretical and practical issues referring to industry examples. To go into details the paper responds to the following tasks: Analyse the distinguishing characteristics of the international hospitality industry.
