The paper looks at the concept of ethical investment developing an ethical investment strategy for a hypothetical fund Virtuous Investment Management (VIM). UK listed companies that have been added to VIM portfolio are described, the performance of their respective shares from May 2008 to May 2009 is analyzed, criteria for ethical investments are compared to those for conventional investment concluding that VIM selected the shares on the basis of financial and social factors including society’s welfare and environmental protection.
