The paper looks at the concept of lender of last resort (LOLR) discussing the funding of banks and the risks associated with borrowing from LORL. LOLR types ate identified, the arguments in favour and against international and domestic LOLR are presented. It is argued whether failed banks should be bailed out under the current financial crisis.
