There is no doubt that technology is now the single biggest issue in banking sector, providing many unexpected opportunities not only to the consumers, but to the bank institutions as well. However, these new applications are expected, and in fact, have already affected many sectors of our lives and our community (economic, social, etc ). The main aim of this paper is to identify, address, and examine the potential problems and effects of e-banking as well as the risks that the application of the new technology creates in the banking industry and especially in the Greek banking industry. Furthennore, the creation of challenges in the Greek banking system will be another issue, which will be examined. More specifically, we will provide extensive analysis about the route of e-banking in Greece, the problems that it faces, and its perspectives in the Greek banking industry . We have to mention that regarding e-banking in Greece, we will have the opportunity to present and to compare the thoughts and the opinions of some specialists in that particular field. More specifically, two bank managers and one e- banking specialist, will be able to answer crucial questions that have arisen from the research. Additionally, we will indicate several opinions regarding the past, the present and the future of e-banking in Greece as compared to the other countries. For the better understanding of that, we will present several tables at the appendix, so as to give a clear picture of the position ofGreek e-banking industry among other European and non-European counties.
