The paper examines the role of digital media in the coverage of celebrity sex scandals. The influence of the Chinese historical culture on the sexuality of Chinese people is discussed exploring how the increasing popularity of celebrity culture has evolved within the context of western sexual norms and values. The paper seeks to explain why there has been little empirical research on sexuality exposure in post-modern China. A case study of Chinese celebrity sex scandal is conducted explaining the reasons why sex scandal is so popular and considering it in the context of the digital media culture development over the last few decades.
