The dissertation reports on the design and mathematical modelling of a hydraulically actuated valve system (HAVS) and an electrically actuated valve system (EAVS) for an Internal Combustion (IC) Engine. Literature is reviewed on valve train configurations, actuated valve trains, the parameters of the valve system, etc. Conceptual and control designs for HAVS and EAVS are described including MATLAB SIMULINK model. A poster and a 20-slide presentation of the study are supplied in separate files.
