This proposal sets out the case for a piece of research that examines the role that radio frequency indentification technology (RFID) has in improving the efficiency of a supply chain characterised by having perishable products. The proposal briefly discussed the supply chain management (SCM) and RFID technology literatures, before setting out the methodology that underpins the research, including a case study approach and qualitative research strategy.
