This dissertation examines the use of bamboo as reinforcement in concrete structures. The paper aims to evaluate whether the construction industry can successfully replace steel reinforcement material with bamboo. The introduction discusses bamboo as an engineering material, presents a detailed plan of the dissertation. The project uses two tests to collect the data, these are tensile testing of bamboo materials and four point bending tests of bamboo reinforced concrete beams.
