The paper addresses the problem of heat loss from houses reviewing the approaches of N. K. Tovey to the design of low carbon environmental systems. Dynamic heat loss equation of a building is calculated, an energy saving model responding to changes in climatic conditions is discussed arguing the viability of low carbon electricity system introduced in Tovey’s 2008 report.
