This paper focuses on the impact that immigration has on the UK economy, whilst comparing it to the effect that unemployment has on the economy. It analyses the statement that ‘immigration is voter’s single biggest worry these days’, and argues whether these worries exit for the right reasons. The paper suggests that unemployment is more detrimental to the UK economy than immigration is, and gives a variety of reasons for this.
