This proposal is for a study on the social impacts of increased international labour migration on UK society. The objectives are to evaluate the effect on the British labour market, to examine unemployment and self employment rates in relation to migrants and non-migrants, to consider the implication of the polarisation that occurs between high-skilled and low-skilled migrants in relationship to how that effect is reflected in wider society, to analyse the ways in which migrants do or do not tend to integrate into society. The plan for the review of literature is provided, along with the proposed research methodology. The proposal also outlines the findings and discussion sections for the study.
