This dissertation discusses the relationship between Polish migration to the UK and the effects on unemployment in both countries. The paper also aims to develop recommendations to improve the existing policies and regulative frameworks on Eastern European migration. The background to the topic is discussed and the dissertation presents the different objectives of the study. The review of literature discusses a variety of theories, some of which are the dual economy development theory, the neo classical theory, dependency theory, and the migration networks theory. Wealth, migration, GDP, and unemployment are all discussed. Data is collected through use of the case study approach. The findings from the discussion are all evaluated, and the dissertation concludes by summarising recommendations for the countries in question. This dissertation includes an excel spreadsheet containing the statistical data used for this study.
