The dissertation investigates the benefits and risks associated with zero carbon projects initiated by supermarkets explaining environmental concerns over CO2 emissions and offering a study of Tesco’s zero carbon stores project. Literature is reviewed on related environmental research including tools and techniques of dealing with environmental issues in zero-carbon supermarkets. The methodology of the dissertation is based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of secondary research and primary research conducted via semi-structured interviews with Tesco employees and customers. Conclusions are made about consumer attitudes towards the idea of zero carbon stores.
