The paper examines the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the country’s economic growth using the example of Nigeria. The country’s economic background is described arguing whether FDI and the entry of multinational corporations (MNC) were beneficial for Nigerian economy. Effects of FDI and MNC on the national savings rate are discussed, channels through which FDI can generate economic growth in the host country are outlined, impacts of Nigeria’s business environment on FDI inflows are considered.
